Ibm Z-15 is a machine made for Cloud, Encryption and Resilience of data. It features secure execution, instant recovery, I/O, specialized engines, cryptography and space flexiblity. It supports diverse OS most notably Z/OS, Z/VM and Linux on Z.
On the HW side the mainframe relies on very fast superscalar cpus called PU SCM, from processor unit. Each CPC drawer has two tpu. The SCM is the real nice feature, because it allows the full system to scale in performance. Also, each CPC is fully connected through L4 cache, another great point of this mainframe.
