Inside Seagate Exos 2X18 – MACH.2 features lightning-fast actuators

Seagate MACH.2 is a hard drive technology that uses dual actuators to improve hard drive performance. These dual actuators allow the hard drive to read and write data from two different locations on the disk simultaneously, which increases the amount of data that can be processed at any given time. MACH.2 technology also improves sequential read and write speeds, resulting in faster file transfers and data access times. Seagate says that MACH.2 can offer up to twice the performance of a single-actuator hard drive.
